2500 PI Mk2 Saloon

Filed in: Uncategorized

1971 Triumph 2.5PI Mk2 Saloon, 12 months MoT and road tax exempt.

This is a 4 speed manual (non overdrive) version, running on the original Lucas injection system which works very well and is in great condition. The car is very original throughout and remains in its factory colour scheme of Triumph white with Damson red roof and Matador red interior. A dealer supplied ‘8-track’ stereo module is included, that fits over the transmission tunnel behind the front seats. It is believed that one of the car’s previous 4 owners was in the entertainment industry…

This PI is very useable and in very good structural condition having just had new inner and outer sills fitted by Yorkshire Triumphs. The floors, boot floor and chassis legs are also in very good condition, however all four wheel arches would benefit from work in the future. The cars current mileage of 74995 is substantiated by a collection of old MoTs, tax discs and receipts.

The previous owner spent £4000 in parts and labour between 2010 and 2013 and amongst other items the receipts show:

– Blue printed oil pump

– External oil feed to cylinder head

– Spin on oil filter conversion

– New rocker shaft

– Suspension bushes and spring seats

– Braking system overhaul inc rear cylinders and braided hoses

– Power steering fitted (early Mk2 PIs did not have this)

– Rebuilt front struts

– New throttle body linkage

– Witor stainless exhaust system
